Hello! And welcome to my theatrical resume. There’s no elaboration of the what the titles mean because in live events, we get the gist, but if you are curious about the duties, responsibilities, and skills involved in the projection programming, assisting, design and/or engineering work that I have done since I went freelance to focus on projections in theatre in 2014, feel free to drop me a line (you can ask about theatrical lighting as well, that’s just not currently my thing). At the moment, I am most often brought in on projects to coordinate with theaters on the design and eventual implementation of projection/display systems (often by training the staff who will be responsible for the show), to create or modify bespoke digital media for display on those systems, as well as programming the display/playback systems. My primary artistic tools are the Adobe Creative Suite supplemented by VFX/motion graphics created in Houdini. I generally program Watchout and disguise based systems but I have also worked with QLab, Millumin, and Isadora. I also supplement the work of designers by conducting research and development on workflows or technical challenges, such as integrating live video capture or creating interactive elements with cameras or other data for theater and interactive public sculpture. I view my primary work as facilitating artistic choices in and out of the theater, ideally expanding the idea of what is possible, even if just a little bit, in the process. Theatre Skills: Highly proficient with Dataton Watchout 5 and 6, Adobe Creative Suite (esp. Photoshop and After Effects), Cinema 4D, and Final Cut Studio X. Proficient in Qlab 3 and 4 (Audio/Video programming - including screens and surfaces - and playback) VectorWorks 2017+, Lightwright 6, SideFX Houdini and Touchdesigner. Experience with Panasonic, Barco, and Christie projectors. Experience with Audacity, Adobe Audition, and with field and studio recording equipment. High Proficiency with ETC Eos Family Consoles (Eos Ti, Gio, Ion and Element), hanging, circuiting, focusing, and troubleshooting conventional and moving light fixtures, as well as installing and troubleshooting both DMX and computer network systems for lighting and video.
